Year-Round Program
A Consistent Commitment
Although Horizons is primarily a summer program, year-round activities extend our commitment to our families and strengthen the bonds in our Horizons at Francis Parker School community. Each year, we also host at least six events for students and families to reconnect with Horizons.
Programming examples include:
- Family Science and Literacy days where parents and students participate in hands-on learning together
- A workshop for parents about saving for college
- A family field trip to experience hands-on environmental learning
- Math games and art activities for students
- A workshop for parents about adverse childhood experiences and developing resilience
- Providing a small number of students with one-on-one tutoring from experienced teachers
